Situated on the beautiful East River of Pictou in New Glasgow's downtown core, Glasgow Square Theatre is an ideal location for your next meeting or event. We offer competitive rental rates, full audio and video capabilities, and two beautiful and versatile rental spaces that are perfect for a wide assortment of events. Our flexible spaces can accommodate meetings, training sessions, conferences, receptions, weddings, community events, and more. The capacity of our main theatre is 200 people, and the capacity of our green room is 35 people.
All rental packages include access to the specified room(s) as your event space, public washrooms, and use of the rotunda and hallway as public spaces. Each rental space is equipped with a projector and screen. Glasgow Square also has a presentation laptop available free of charge on a first-come-first-serve basis; this must be requested in advance.

1. Entire Facility Rental
This rental package includes full access to the entire building as an event space, including the main theatre and stage, green room, dressing rooms, and lobby area. Please note that this does not include the use of the outdoor stage or the parking lot as an event space.

2. Entire Facility with Outdoor Amphitheatre

3. Main Theatre Only
The Main Theatre at Glasgow Square is a versatile event space that is home to New Glasgow's largest performing arts stage equipped with a professional front of house sound system and stage lighting. With a capacity of 200 people (seated) or 340 people (standing room), our Main Theatre can also accommodate many different types of events, including weddings, conferences, receptions, and so much more.
This rental package includes access to the main theatre and indoor stage only as a meeting or event space.

4. Green Room Only
Glasgow Square's Green Room offers panoramic views of the beautiful East River and a comfortable environment for many types of small events. With a capacity of up to 35 people (standing room), the Green Room is an ideal location for business meetings, training seminars, smaller gatherings, and intimate performances.
This rental package includes access to the green room only as a meeting or event space.

Additional Services
- Basic Sound and Lighting with Technician - $250.00 - In order to maintain a high standard of production quality, this fee is mandatory for all events requiring the use of Glasgow Square’s sound system and/or stage lighting
- Setup and Custodial Fee – $125.00 - Charged per day on all rentals for assistance with room setup, teardown, cleaning and removal of refuse.
- Bar Service Fee – $100.00 – flat rate for bar service with two bar staff. Glasgow Square retains all revenue from bar sales.
- Gratuity (Open Bar Only) – 20% of bar sales.
- Security – Priced per event, approximately $25/hour per guard. Generally one guard is required per 100 attendees for all events at which alcohol is being served, but some exceptions may apply depending on the nature of the event.
Non-Profit Discount: Qualifying non-profit organizations and community groups can receive a 20% discount on their base rental rate. Weddings and other private rentals are not eligible for this discount.
Ticket Sales: Please note that for ticketed events, all tickets must be sold through the Glasgow Square box office.
HST: 15% sales tax is charged on all rental transactions.
